Supplies for Railway Signalling
For Railtrack (Network Rail):
Project Leader for four studies into the design of Principal Supply Points (PSPs) for railway signalling power supplies:
- Risk analysis and safety criticality assessment (BS EN 61508) of software for controlling the operation of the PSP.
- Reliability analysis of a number of alternative equipment configurations within the PSP.
- Study of batteries including life prediction and options for monitoring
- Life costs of various arrangements for heating ventilating and air conditioning systems for the enclosure, to establish whether the cost of holding temperatures in the PSP enclosure within close limits would be repayed by savings through increased battery life.
Further study into harmonics generated by rectifiers involving FFT anaysis
For Railtrack/Amey Rail:
Project Leader of a study for the theoretical reliability analysis of alternative schemes for final distribution of trackside LV services to signalling equipment
